Hi, I’m Stephanie
MA., RP, SEP & EMDR Clinician
Pronouns: She/Her
I was inspired to become a therapist through my own healing journey and the transformative impact therapy had on my life. During my adolescent years, I experienced a meaningful therapeutic relationship that provided steady support as I worked through trauma, loss, and an eating disorder. This process was integral to my recovery and deepened my belief in the power of compassionate, attuned care. That experience continues to guide how I show up for the clients I work with today.
Over the past fifteen years, I have supported children, adults, and families through a wide range of life challenges and transitions. My work across schools, community services, shelters, and counselling settings has strengthened my commitment to compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed care. With a background in social work, mental health, and counselling psychology, I take an integrative and individualized approach to therapy.
My Approach
I am passionate about a holistic approach to therapy, one that honours the whole person, including their mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. I believe healing is most meaningful when it reflects the unique needs, lived experiences, and inner strengths of each individual and family. My work centres on creating a supportive, attuned space where clients feel safe to explore, reconnect, and grow at a pace that feels right for them.
I specialize in trauma-informed approaches that integrate both the mind and body, drawing from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). These approaches allow me to tailor the therapeutic process to the unique needs of each individual or family, supporting deeper regulation, stronger emotional connections, nervous system safety, and long-term healing.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Supporting clients in building practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthier relationships, creating more balance and stability in daily life
Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT): Helping parents and families better understand the emotions and needs underlying challenging behaviours, improve communication, strengthen emotional bonds, and create greater safety, connection, and understanding within the family.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Helping clients process and integrate painful or traumatic experiences through a structured, evidence-based approach that reduces emotional intensity and supports nervous system healing
Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Parts Work: Exploring the different parts within oneself to deepen self-understanding, support emotional integration, and foster inner harmony
Somatic Experiencing (SE): Using body-based techniques to release stress and trauma stored in the body
Treatment Specialities
My treatment specialties include supporting individuals and families who are navigating complex trauma, disordered eating, substance use, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, challenges with self-esteem, and family relationships. I work collaboratively with clients and families to understand their experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, improve communication and connection, and move toward a more grounded and empowered sense of self. Together, we explore both past and present patterns with compassion and curiosity, creating space for healing that feels safe, steady, and sustainable. My goal is to help individuals heal from trauma, reconnect with their inner strengths, and learn to live more peacefully and happily in their bodies, while helping families build stronger, more connected relationships and develop tools that support meaningful change in everyday life.
